3. Our production company is Quantum Productions. The name Quantum connotes knowledge, and suggests high quality products. This is through its association with Quantum physics and its definition of ‘a great amount’. If something is quantum, it is sudden and significant. We intend for our productions to be associated with something that is surprising and leaves an impact. Our group consists of Anita Mensah, Kalyn Chesney, Joe Latham and Connor Lasic. Conventions of a thriller include having a female name as a title, hence the name ‘Emily’ GENERAL CONVENTIONS C

4. What if you were born evil? Surely not, yet the world has changed. Children now have to be monitored… contained. Immediately after birth, all infants are sent to The Institution until the age of approximately 13. The Institution was placed to condition children to forget the murderous intent they were born with. Emily is a young girl in The Institution, whose parents excitedly await her arrival, convinced that the disorder of a Natural born killer has been conditioned and removed. They were wrong. A killer, a child is the world’s worst fear and she escapes. 20 years after Emily’s intended return; her spirit still haunts the institution, convincing them to keep their killing instinct, and how to get by under the radar. 5. Cuts scenes of wrapped up infants being taken away as news reporters talk about the arrival of the children. Alternatively, we may have a black image with only the sounds of reporters talking and no real visuals. Suggesting that this was an old event. Parents eagerly talk as if waiting for their child to arrive from an institution is normal. Often referring to them as ‘little angels’. There should be about 3 sets of different voices/parents talking. There is a fade to black transition. If going with no visuals and just voices, then it is simply a fade to white. This scene has high key lighting, it’s very bright – hence the fade to white transition. Scene starts to focus out of the white as a voice can be heard calling the name ‘Emily Emily goes in to be checked up Camera tracks Doctors hands Camera follows Emily’s eyes She lashes out Camera looks away from the attack scene – like in Reservoir Dogs. The attack can be heard and then there is silence. Camera looks back down as if a CCTV Camera. Emily is seen smiling and the scene then cuts to black Fade in to title scene NARRATIVE OPENING: A

6. Our sound will include both diegetic and non-diegetic. Sound can be extracted from several sites offering royalty free or public domain music and sound effects. Resources I have my eye on include soundbible.com and freepd.com. We will need distorted sounds to combine with the voice of radio reporters, as well as a soft piano tune to play quietly in the background. The idea is juxtapose a light melody with gruesome ideologies and violence. SOUND J

7. For the creation of our intro we have been looking at easily accessible filming locations such as those within our own Sixth form, Lower School Buildings and around the general area. These locations include the Soundproof Room for Drama, the DT building, the LRC Stairs, Outside of the school, the LRC Windows and the Common Room. LOCATIONS J

8. Props we will require, will include a White Dress, a Microphone, angel wings, a Teddy Bear and possibly a lab coat. PROPS C
