1 Jesus is coming Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming,
Jesus is coming to Jerusalem. Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he, blessed is he, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

2 We want rid of him We want rid of him, He gives us so much trouble. Quickly, at the double. If he stays here, We’ll be out on our ear, Let’s kill this man called Jesus. See Judas there, He looks a little shifty. A friend of Jesus Christ, But if we give him money He may think twice. At a very good price He’ll help get rid of Jesus. So Judas, will you Help get rid of Jesus? We’ll pay you well If you hand him over to us. You say you will? Well, then, give us the bill, Let’s go and find this Jesus.

3 Why do we call it Good Friday?
A day when we think of your death! You died on the cross like a criminal, But we remember it today. Jesus, your death wasn’t the end, In fact, it was just the beginning. When you died on the cross, You gave hope to the world. You dealt with the wrongs we’ve all done. Because you took all of the blame. The wrongs we have done needed punishing, But you did that by taking our place.

4 Clap your hands, shout hallelujah
Clap your hands, shout hallelujah, For Jesus has risen today. (x2) The tomb where he lay is empty. His body is really not there. The stone’s rolled away, the guards are amazed, Jesus is alive! (Chorus) Jesus had said what would happen: When three days had passed, He would rise! The third day has come, a new age has dawned, Through rising from death, He has shown us That he is the true Son of God. Friendship with him, for all who believe,

5 Jesus is living Jesus is living, Jesus is living,
Jesus is living and will come again. Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he, blessed is he, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

6 What are you thinking today?
Jesus, Jesus, what are you thinking today? For your eyes are full of sadness, are the words so hard to say? Do the days ahead of suffering, the pain you’ll have to bear Seem of little value in a world that doesn’t care? Now your life has come full circle since you left your bed of hay. Did you realise ‘Hosanna’ would soon be ‘Crucify’? And men who once adored you would call for you to die? Jesus, Jesus, when will they all understand That the troubles of each nation will be taken in your hands? As the daylight fades and darkness falls, we’ll see man’s greatest sin. But when you rise up from your grave, a new day will begin.

7 Look towards tomorrow 1. And now my story’s over, and yet it’s just the beginning. It tells about our Saviour, the brighter world He’s bringing. 2. And just before I leave you, I’ll give you one reminder. Unless you are a seeker, you’ll never be a finder. Chorus Look towards tomorrow, face the future with a smile. Open up your heart and let the sun shine, Tell yourself that life is so worthwhile. Although there may be grey skies, He will drive the clouds away. You will find a better day.

8 Barabbas’ song I stand here amazed at what you’ve done for me,
Taking my place upon the cross so that I could be set free. I don’t deserve to be saved I’ve done wrong in many ways, But still you quietly took the blame and so I give you praise. Chorus Jesus, you saved me from the cross I thank you and praise God on high. For giving me another chance I worship and thank you today. How can I ever repay the gift you’ve given today? Why should you show me this love, Giving your life in this way? I’m more grateful than I’ll ever know, So changing my life will show, In turning from sin and changing within, My praise is living for you. (Chorus)
