23 Alabama is the “Heart of Dixie”, alive with Southern style and grace, From Mobile’s sunny Gulf Coast to Huntsville’s Center for Space. Cotton grown on the plantation and peanuts fresh from the ground. Coal, iron, and steel from Alabama’s largest city of Birmingham. Sports greats like Hank Aaron, Joe Louis, and Hall of Famer Willie Mays, Author Harper Lee and Helen Keller have gone down Alabama’s pathways. From the bayous to the mountains, our state cradles humble pride, Alabamians hold fast to honor with a little Southern grace on the side. An Alabama Poem By Rhonda Joyner
