TOTAL: 12 points Particular situations: 1)Midfield, Penalty kick for touch is going to be pretty close to the goal line. a) Where should the Touch Judges be? (2 pts) Typical Answer: One TJ marking 10m for offending team, other TJ on the intersection of goal-line and touch / touch-in-goal. b) What is the priority of the Touch Judge’s? (2 pts) Typical Answer: To decide if the ball goes into touch OR touch-in-goal. c) If the ball goes into touch-in-goal, what is the TJ signal? (3 pts) Typical Answer: First, look at the Referee. Then, Touch Judge points towards the dead-ball line with flag and other hand indicating straight out. Finally, TJ jogs to 22m line.

14 Exam – Section 7 Special situations: 2) Conversion attempt, ball goes wide. a) Where should the Touch Judges or In Goal Official be? (2 pts) Typical Answer: Each Touch Judge should take a goal post. If there is an In Goal official, they should be in a straight line from the kicker, pivot point in the centre of the goal posts. b) What is the priority of the Touch Judges or In Goal Official? (2 pts) Typical Answer: To decide if the ball goes through the goal posts. c) When the ball goes wide, or is too short, what is the signal? (1 pt) Typical Answer: No flag, officials can simply shake their heads indicating “no”.

15 Exam – Section 8 3 questions, 1 points each. TOTAL: 3 points Students demonstrate: 1)Lineout, throw into Red team. 2)Ball went straight out. 3)Ball went straight out, lineout back where the ball was kicked.

16 Exam – Section 9 1 question, 9 steps to put in order. TOTAL: 9 points Explain the process of preparing for a lineout before the Penalty kick for touch, from when the Referee signals the penalty Kick to just before the throwing in team starts the lineout. You are the Touch Judge on the side to which the ball will be kicked. (put these steps in order) _1__ Notice Referee’s signal. _8__ Flag up _2__ Run away quickly, facing offending team. _5__ Determine if close to the goal-line, move to the goal-line. _3__ Mark 10m for offending team with TJ partner. _4__ Quickly continue backwards to where the ball might land, facing kicker! _7__ Indicate where the ball went into touch, no closer than 5m to the goal-line _9__ Arm towards throwing-in team _6__ Determine if ball went into touch or touch-in-goal.
