3 Data Center Migration Update 2 Server Transformation and Move Introduction Project Description Relocating all Data Center operations for the current Data Center located in the Richmond Plaza Building to the new Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center (CESC). Consolidating/Virtualization of servers at RPB to reduce overall foot-print and better facilitate the relocation effort Consolidation of multiple SAN/Disk subsystem to a single new SAN/Disk infrastructure to facilitate the relocation effort and improve operations efficiency The Data Center Relocation is scheduled to start in early June 2007 and continue through November 2007. The Relocations will be scheduled during weekend periods to minimize the impact to agency operations. Purpose and Benefits Easier Maintenance through server virtualization Quicker response time to agency change requests Better utilization of server hardware Better utilization of SAN/Disk infrastructure

5 Data Center Migration Update 4 Project Description Upgrade tape processing. Consolidate mainframe print centers to a central location using new printers that will deliver both continuous form or cut sheet output. Implement disk that will be shared by IBM and Unisys mainframes. Move mainframes and related equipment to the new data center in Chesterfield. Purpose and Benefits Expand the use of tape robotics to improve data access performance, minimize manual tape mounts, and reduce floor space for racked tapes. Upgrade to current disk technology will enable data replication of virtual tape and disk to the disaster recovery center in Lebanon. Minimize mainframe printing cost by using current technology Migration to a Tier 3 datacenter Mainframe Transformation and Migration Introduction
