The New Microsoft Operating System to be released July 29 th. It’s not just a PC operating system, it’s a lot more, it includes phones, tables xbox. Microsoft’s new browser “Microsoft Edge” A Web Note button on the taskbar allows you to draw directly on Web pages and annotate them with text, and share those notes via email or through OneNote. With Windows Hello, new security in Windows 10, users will be able to sign in to their devices using their fingerprint, their face or even the iris of their eye.

Start Menu Returns It’s was a big mistake for Windows 8, and Microsoft has finally brought back the Start Menu. Now, when you click on the Start button at the bottom left of the screen, you get two panels side by side, with the left column showing pinned, recently and most- used apps. You also get a power button. The right column features a selection of live tiles that you can customize, resize and reorganize. The search field at the bottom will look up related Internet results in addition to programs and files and lots more. 5 XBOX APP You will be able to play any XBOX One game on your PC or tablet, with the xbox app for Windows 10. Windows 10 will support XBOX game streaming through your home network with much improved speed and graphics.

UNIVERSAL APPS Making the transition to many devices, Microsoft is introducing a category of software called universal apps. These apps will use the same code but adapt their interface to many devices. Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People & Messaging and Mail & Calendar will all function the same way on tablets, phones and PCs

UNIFIED SETTINGS Instead of having two apps to control your device settings in Control Panel and PC Settings, Microsoft is making things less confusing by bringing them together in one. You’ll be able to manage your device from one place instead of hunting for a specific menu.

With the rise of hybrid laptop-tablet devices, Microsoft wants to make it easier to switch between either mode. The system will detect if you’ve plugged in a keyboard or mouse and switch modes for more convenient interaction. If you remove the keyboard/mouse, a notification will pop up from the task bar at the bottom, asking if you want to activate Tablet mode. When you do, you are greeted with the more touch-friendly profile. Dock your tablet into the keyboard again, and you’ll receive the same prompt, this time asking if you want to exit Tablet mode.

How to Customize the Windows 10 Start Menu To open the start menu, press the Windows key or the Windows logo on a tablet or hybrid device. You can, of course, just tap or click on the Windows logo at the bottom-left corner of the screen, too:

To get started with Cortana, type a question in the search box on the taskbar, or select the microphone icon and talk to her. (Typing works for all types of PCs, but you need a mic to talk.) 13 What is Cortana? Microsoft says that Cortana will be socially intelligent, so for example you'll be able to set a reminder to ask somebody about something, and the reminder will pop up if you text, call or otherwise interact with that person.

How does Cortana work? She replaces the search function in Windows Phone and appears as a Live Tile on your device. Her intelligence comes via Bing, which has access to Tellme's natural language processing. Cortana is designed to learn about you and store what matters in her Notebook. 15 More About Cortana Cortana doesn’t just listen to you, she'll understand you, and she will use your location to find things and places that apply to personal preferences. If you ask her to book a hotel, she'll find the kind of hotel you like in the kind of area you like to stay in at the kind of price you want to pay. Take a few minutes to set up Cortana, and she’ll help with anything else you might need to make your everyday life a little easier.
