Jonathon Bicknell, IT Co-ordinator from Broom Leys Primary School “The more I use ‘Auditor’ the more I like it! As a full time classroom teacher I get no time to see what goes on regarding ICT in our school. Previously if I wanted to monitor ICT I had to be released from the class. As you can guess, that didn’t happen very often! Monitoring any subject is always difficult. However, I can now fulfill the ‘monitoring’ aspect of my role, at a time convenient to me, from any computer in the school, in seconds. Auditor will become a ‘must have’ product for schools who are serous about monitoring ICT. The data is easily read in a format that can be understood by a non ICT specialist. The headteacher now receives a weekly ICT report, so he too is fulfilling his monitoring role.”

RM Auditor can help Network Managers, Management staff and Teachers to: Make informed management decisions as to where to target spending on improving the network. Monitor network use by individuals or groups of users. Monitor offline usage of the network. Compare, contrast and measure the impact ICT is having across different classes and year groups. Identify under-used network resources (e.g. workstations, printers) and take appropriate action to ensure all resources fully used.

Building a Report Report Builders can be run to generate a variety of different reports that present the specific information required in a clear format. RM Auditor currently has 13 standard report builders.

Report scheduler – RM Auditor for Community Connect 3 allows you to schedule reports to run at set times. For example, a report can be scheduled to run every Monday at 9.00am for 10 weeks. The Auditor user can then pick these reports up at their leisure.

Sharing Reports - Once the Report Builder has been run, the report generated will be visible from the My Reports window. Reports are viewed in a standard HTML format with a range of detailed tabular or graphical information. This means that they can be presented in a professional format to the relevant people, such as the Senior Management Team of your school.

Auditing of Programs - Auditor monitors programs accessed on a local workstation hard disk, and any servers where it has been installed. It will show the program executable name in the report unless you specify a friendly name for the program through the Program Names tab within RM Auditor.

Licence Monitoring - Monitor programs accessed on a local workstation or server. Identify where concurrent use of applications has exceeded the number of licences owned

Computer Activity - Monitor the usage of computers on the network. For example; show the total usage time, total uptime, number of logons and average session time.

Printer Activity - Report on printer activities. For example; the number of pages printed, list the users of different printers, the average print time and the print queue time.

User Activity - Monitor a particular user or group of users. For example; you can monitor how long they have been logged onto the network and the applications they have accessed.

Share Reports - Share network activity data with your Senior Management Team.
