1 THE HOLOCAUST A message from the community ambassadors.

2 WHAT IS GENOCIDE? Genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular nation or ethnic group. Holocaust was a form of Genocide. The Holocaust was devised and executed by Adolf Hitler, the holocaust lead to the loss of millions of lives. Between 1941 and 1945, the Nazis attempted to kill all of Europe’s Jews. This systematic and planned attempt to murder European Jews. From the time they assumed power in 1933, the Nazis used propaganda and persecution to deny human and civil rights to Jews and therefore allowing themselves to create confinement for Jews and the murder of millions of their race. By the end of the Holocaust, six million Jewish men, women and children had perished in ghettos, mass-shootings, in concentration camps and extermination camps.

3 WHY DOES IT AFFECT US? The Holocaust just gives an example of how prejudice our society can be. The Holocaust made everyone stop and really think that we shouldn't get to comfortable in the state that we are at because that can get stripped away from you in a second. The Holocaust today still effects us by the government cracking down. Today most countries don't except dictators to take over they now give power to people, president and prime ministers. They did this because of the Holocaust they don't want any reoccurrence of this horrific genocide that stole the innocent lives of Jewish people. In todays society you are taught from day one to "treat others the way you would want to be treated". You’re taught discrimination is a sin. This genocide shows as if that was okay to kill off certain people because of their religion. The Holocaust effected our society like no other war or battle has. The Holocaust has and will effect us whether it was in the Past, Present, or Future.
