1 Nuclear Energy

2 What is the source, of your type of energy (where do we get it)?
Nuclear reactors, power stations, reactors.

3 Where can the resource for this energy type can be found ( explain in detail)?
There are several Nuclear reactors, and power stations around the world, several in just one State.

4 How is this type of energy converted (changed) into other useful forms of energy?
Nuclear power plants are designed to convert nuclear energy into electrical energy, first by converting it into heat, then mechanical, to finally electrical energy.

5 Is this type of energy available in our community?
Nuclear energy is not available in our community.

6 Is this type of energy in our state?
Yes there are six nuclear power plants. there one in Byron,Quad cities,Dresden,Braidwood, and LaSalle.

7 What are 3 benefits of our source of energy?
Nuclear energy keep the air clean and nuclear energy is eco-efficient of all the other energy sources.also nuclear energy does not give off harmful gases.

8 What are three drawbacks of this source of energy?
Radioactive waste, Nuclear Accidents, and Nuclear radiation.

9 How easy is it to convert his source into a usable type of energy
How easy is it to convert his source into a usable type of energy? Explain. Easy, because Nuclear power plants change it to heat, mechanical, and then into Electrical Energy.

10 Can this type of energy be used by people in their homes right now
Can this type of energy be used by people in their homes right now? Explain what things would need to change in our homes. In theory, yes, because Nuclear energy can be converted, nothing would really need to be changed in our homes.

11 Could nuclear energy be used by our school?
Yes and no because they produce 2,000 metric tons of radioactive waste every year, but Nuclear energy is converted into Electrical Energy, which schools use a lot of.

12 Can nuclear energy be used for transportation
Yes. Because many vehicles of today use electrical power somehow. Nuclear energy, is converted into electrical energy.

13 How does nuclear energy contribute to any form of pollution?
Radioactive waste(liquid or solid), radiation leaks (air), and heat emissions(water). Environmental effects are difficult to dispose of. Radiation poisoning and increasing the risk of cancer. Also causes growth of algae and kills marine life.

14 How does this form of energy contribute to any form of pollution in water?`
Radioactive leeking.

15 How does this form of energy contribute to any form of pollution in air?
Radiation through air molecules. Radioactive Dust.

16 Does this form of energy create noise pollution?
Yes, but very little.

17 Would this form of energy help fix our current pollution problems
Would this form of energy help fix our current pollution problems? Why or Why not? Yes and no, it would use less electricity, but would add radioactive pollution.

18 Yes but we would have to find more places to put the.
Explain in detail, your personal opinion of what you think about the use of this form of energy and whether or not it would be worth using instead of fossil fuels for The United States and other countries. Yes but we would have to find more places to put the.
