3 Late 1980’s the State of Utah deregulated the GT industry, changing the regulated number of five shared ride van providers plus hotel shuttles charter coach operators and taxicabs to a growth of over eighty companies in the early 1990’s. This number has continued to grow along with the population and airport rider ship to nearly one hundred and fifty registered GT providers. First GT enforcement section started in 1990 with six volunteer Police Officers. First AVI system installed in 1992. Ordinance 5.71 passed and first commercial vehicle inspections started in 1993. Today we combine the public traffic control with GT and the number of employees are 29 plus management and growing.

17 SLC Airport Light Rail Project Complete 2012 Potential Riders Expected users of the Airport line are business and leisure travelers, Airport-area employees, park-and-ride commuters, area residents, and so on. Salt Lake City estimates there are nearly 75,000 workers in the western part of the city, compared with about 60,000 workers in the downtown business district. In addition, the residential growth rate has been much higher in western Salt Lake City than in the city as a whole, and in Salt Lake County.
