2 1988:Creation of the AEHT in the Hotel and Tourism School of Strasbourg-Illkirch 1989:The AEHT gets the status of an NGO from The Council of Europe Jean-Paul BERNARD Founding President

3 2004:The AEHT counts more than 360 schools in 39 European countries

4 OFFICIAL WORKING LANGUAGES : FRENCH and ENGLISH with simultaneous translation on important meetings Appointed translator: Dr. John REES-SMITH

5 STRUCTURE of the AEHT GENERAL ASSEMBLY meeting once a year discusses and informs about the activities controls the accounting votes the budgets

6 EXECUTIVE BOARD  executes the decision of the AEHT-GA  is composed of one representative of each member country  elects a President and 5 Vice-Presidents  appoints a General Secretary and a Treasurer  all members have access to the reports of the Board meetings

7 MANAGING COMMITTEE  Is in charge of the everyday tasks of the AEHT The members are: The President, the Vice-Presidents, the General Secretary and the Treasurer  The statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the AEHT determine the tasks and responsibilities of the members of the Executive Board and the Managing Committee

9 MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE AEHT Promoting a European spirit between Hotel- and Tourism Schools

10 SUB-OBJECTIVES  To serve as a communication Centre for Hotel and Tourism Schools in Europe  to circulate information about hotel and tourism education and training in the European countries  to favour students and teachers exchanges  to create tight links between the schools and enterprises  to put together teaching methods, pedagogical material, knowledge and know-how

11 SPECIAL FEATURES The AEHT includes in its activities all the actors of the educational system: –Headmasters –Teachers and, above all –STUDENTS offers to its members a variety of activities to give satisfaction to every group
