5 Geoffrey Chaucer (not so) Fun Facts He was assumed to be born in London, England in the year 1343 He died in London, England on the 25 th of October in 1400 His death is unspecified Chaucer is buried in the Poets Corner in Westminster Abbey, London, England Geoffery Chaucer is thought to have began writing the Canterbury Tales between 1387 and 1400 His writing has been dated back to as early as 1372 so this was certainly not his very first work (from the Canterbury Tales edited by A. and Constance Hieatt) (Actual Fun Fact)
