4 The population of wellington is 393,600  Wellington is located in the south western tip of north island.  Wellington is the 12 nicest place to live in the world.  The original people that lived in new Zealand are called Maoris.  The first Europeans that settled in New Zealand arrived on the Tory ship on 20 September 1839.  In 1865 Wellington became capital of New Zealand instead of Auckland.  Auckland was only capital 14 years.  Wellington was and still is more successful than Auckland because it has been capital for 150 years.  Instead of shaking hands with someone when you meet them Maoris rub there noses toghether.

5  The population of Cairo is 70 million.  Cairo is located near the Nile Delta.  Its the largest city in the middle east and the second largest in Africa after Lagos which is the largest.  It is the capital of Egypt.  In Ancient Egypt Cairo was actually called Memphis.  Cairo was founded in the 10 century CE by Jewhar al-Siqilli”The Sicilian.”

7 Cairo Cairo is near the top of the river Nile. The Nile is the longest river in the world and runs next to Cairo.  Ancient Egyptians held court in Cairo but Cairo was called Memphis then.  In Cairo if someone did a crime the person who got the crime would get to choose a punishment that would happen on the criminal but that could only happen if the person who got the crime was still alive. 8  Wellingtons first president was Irishman Henry Blundell.  Henry Blundell retired in 1874 but his three sons took over the job for him so it remained Blundell family 1972 when his sons retired.  The colony’s capital was originally established by govener William Hobson at Kororareka ( russel) at the of islands.  After 1841 it was sited in Auckland.  All though Wellington is the capital city it is the smallest place in New Zealand.
