Recall Recall a monomial is a term with just term, a number, or the product of numbers and variables. A BINOMIAL is the sum or difference of two monomials. A TRINOMIAL is the sum or difference of three monomials.

Multiplying Polynomials MULTIPLYING POLYNOMIAL can be represented several different ways. Monomials x BinomialMonomial x Trinomial Binomial x BinomialBinomial x Trinomial

Multiplying Polynomials Use the box method x4 2 x 3

Monomial x Trinomial Use the box method x-y 2x

Monomial x Trinomial Use the box method -2x

Binomial x Binomial Use the box method x3 x 7 21

Binomial x Binomial 3x-5 5x 2 -10

Binomial x Binomial 2x 2x 1

Special Binomials x-3 x 9 multiply the binomial by itself based on the outside exponent.

Trinomial x Trinomial -3x

Trinomial x Trinomial -5x

Dividing Polynomials When dividing polynomials, rewrite the expression by breaking it up based on the number of terms in the numerator. After breaking up the expression, simplify each term.
