2 Purpose – To observe sounds made by different objects and as the sound travels through different media. Sound Lab

3 Record one observation for each of the following: 1.Tap a 256 Hz TF and listen. 2.Tap a 320 Hz TF and listen. 3.Tap a 512 Hz TF and listen. 4.Tap a 256 Hz TF and bring it very close (without touching) to another TF and listen to the second TF. It needs to be quiet for you to hear. 5.Tap and hold, a 256 Hz TF in a container of water. Compare to air. 6.Tap and hold, a 512 Hz TF in a container of water. Compare to air. 7.Talk to another person through the cup phone with a tight string. 8.Talk to another person through the cup phone with tight string and touch the string with any vibrating TF. 9.Talk to another person through the cup phone with the string very tight and have a third person hold the string in the middle. 10.Talk to another person through the cup phone with a loose string. 11.Tap a 256 Hz and hold it so it barely touches your skin. 12.Tap a 256 Hz TF and touch the fork part of it to a Styrofoam cup. Put it up to your ear.
