2 SLIDE 2 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company ComfortSense software You can choose between 3 types of ComfortSense application programs, which all require a dongle. 1: Thermal Comfort Solution, 2: Flow and Temperature solution, 3: Single point Flow and Temperature solution – to be used together with ComfortSense Mini. Local language can be selected in the lower left corner : English, German, French,Turkish, Chinese, Hindi, Swedish and Danish

3 SLIDE 3 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company ComfortSense – Start page - project and run structure The start page gives you an overview of the application solutions installed, the individual projects and measurements The user can lock-in as Administrator, Configurator or Operator. On-line help can be turned On and OFF to give you more screen space. With the filter section its easy to select your personal projects and runs within a given period of time

4 SLIDE 4 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company Asignment of probes from library to ComfortSense frame When a ComfortSense frame is connected to the PC via the USB connector, the ComfortSense program will recognize the frame and show an Icon. Below is a library of all installed probes with calibration date and status indication if recalibration is recommended. To attach the probes needed from the library, simply drag and drop them to the frame. You will immediately get response with actual readings. If a ComfortSense frame is not present you can simulate one and set up a measurement template

5 SLIDE 5 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company Definition of probe grid and measuring plane Next step is to define the probes position in the measuring grid. This can be done either by key in the actual X-Y values or by moving the probe on the graph. Finally the traversing step size of the grid is defined – Z value. Instead of a measuring grid you can define a single point Y value, and then move this point according to your predefined table X,Z values. 3 types of grid layout can be selected: Grid Point -, Grid Plane - and Grid 3D layout

6 SLIDE 6 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company On-line display of probe data and warning indicator Alarm level set-point To give the operator a quick graphical presentation of the velocity levels as well as if any probe exceed a given velocity level, the operator can make a set-point on the alarm bar. By clicking on any of the probes, the actual velocity reading will be shown to the right

Export of statistical values Velocity, Temperature, Turbulence intensity, Draught Rate, Operative temp and Humidity to Excel. The lower left graph show the mean velocity of the selected probes as a function of traversing steps.

8 SLIDE 8 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company Data presentation with with 3D contour plot A 3D contour plot gives a direct and intuitive perception of the measured data, as well as to identify problematic zones. The operator can zoom, rotate and arrange all 3 planes individually as well as animate the 3 planes.

9 SLIDE 9 | Dantec Dynamics | 2012 A Nova Instruments company Thermal Comfort Solution – PMV and PPD calculation Select activity levelChoose clothing In the application software “Thermal Comfort solution” the PMV and PPD calculations have been implemented. In the drop down menus MET and CLO, the operator can select activity level and dress the person The measurement show that the PPD value increase when the room ventilation is increased.
