3 What I Already Knew! Mesothelioma is the type of lung cancer you receive when exposed to asbestos. Asbestos (A mineral fiber) comes from a building material called insulation. Surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiation is used to treat Mesothelioma.

5 What is Cancer?! Uncontrollable cell growth within specific tissue inside the body, forbidding normal cell growth and organ function. Which travels through the bloodstream and other areas of the body.

6 After the diagnosis of Mesothelioma the amount of survival is less than 5 years. Only 15 percent of lung cancers are found at an early stage. How Long You can Live With Mesothelioma if You Treated?

7 The Difference Between Chemotherapy and Radiation. Chemotherapy – A method of killing cancer cells using certain chemicals. Chemo can be given orally or injected into the blood stream. Radiation – Use of high-energy radiation to treat cancer. Coming from radioactive materials, and can be given either internally or externally.

8 Side Effects of Chemotherapy and Radiation. Radiation may cause: Tiredness, skin rashes, upset stomach, diarrhea, sore throat, difficulty swallowing and loss of hair. Chemotherapy also causes: Nausea, vomiting, hair loss, weight loss, weakness due to low blood count, and weakening of the immune system.

9 How To Prevent Lung Cancer Caused By Asbestos. Avoid contact with chemicals that can cause disease such as asbestos. Have your home checked for radon gas.
