We need to receive God’s grace every day so we can extend God’s grace every day.

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) 9 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Matthew 6:9-13 continued 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:12 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Forgive = Release

1. Confess your debts.

Matthew 10:8 Freely you have received, freely give.

Romans 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

2 Corinthians 5:19 … God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ… cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience…

Dead Works:

Any Work that God doesn’t initiate.Any Work that God doesn’t initiate.

Dead Works: Any Work that God doesn’t initiate.Any Work that God doesn’t initiate. A work that tries to appease God.A work that tries to appease God.

2. Release your debts.

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Genesis 4:23 Then Lamech said to his wives: “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech! For I have killed a man for wounding me, Even a young man for hurting me.

Genesis 4:24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”

Matthew 18:23-27 23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 29 So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done.

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?

Matthew 18:23-27 continued 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. 35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”

We need to receive God’s grace every day so we can extend God’s grace every day.
