4 Starter (LO1) Equal opportunities means; Absence of discrimination, as in the workplace, based on race, colour, age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, or mental or physical disability

5 Equal Opportunities in the Work Place Understanding and following laws and regulations on equal opportunities and diversity within the workplace allow your business to get the best possible performance out of employees. Employment Practice and Law provide businesses with guidance and documentation on how to offer equal opportunities and diversity through their workforce without any discrimination.

7 Equal Pay Act 1970 and 2010 (LO2)

8 In Summary Under law both men an women are entitled to equal pay. In addition to basic salary or wages pay is also deemed to include contractual benefits, such as pension contributions and bonuses. The Equal Pay Act is part of employment law and should be treated as separate from general discrimination law.
