1. Catholic Heart Work Camp Summer 2012 Magnolia, DE Service Project

2. Catholic Heart Work Camp  The overall mission of Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC) is to serve. Workers aim to bring the love of Jesus to less fortunate homes and communities and help in any way needed. They are inspired to continue service in their local communities and also live as disciples of Christ through their service.

3. My Service  For a week in June 2012, several churches in my area embarked on a mission trip to Magnolia, DE. Without a doubt, serving with CHWC was one of the best experiences of my life thus far. This trip inspired me to continue to serve my community in any way I can. At Tech, I hope to live up to the motto “Ut Prosim” and give back through events like Relay for Life and Big Event.

4. Habitat for Humanity My work team and I had the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity and build and refurbish homes for those who can’t afford to do so themselves.

5. Painting & Construction One of the homes in the community had already finished being built, so we got to paint, add trim, and complete the interior. Another project consisted of building the roof of a house. Although terrifying at first, I found the courage to climb onto the roof and help to finish construction and apply shingling.
