2. Government Officials Government officials were next to the Pharaohs on the social pyramid and held the responsibility of assisting the Pharaoh with the job of being the ultimate leader. The Government officials were usually picked from the families of the Pharaohs or other high-ranked, wealthy people. There were three different kinds of government officials, a Vizier, the chief treasurer, and the general of the armies. They all lead important roles in Egypt.

3. Three Main Officials Vizier The vizier was the main government official.The vizier was the main government official. He was the person who was most associated with the Pharaoh and was the pharaohs most trusted advisor. The Chief Treasurers The chief treasurers job was to look over the wealth of the government. One of his other main jobs was to collect the taxes of grain, cloth, cows and beer, and also silver from the people of Egypt. The General of the Armies The general of the armies was the main leader of the army after the Pharaoh. He helped the Pharaoh make alliances with the other kingdoms that they encountered. He advised the pharaoh in national security, matters of war, and helped the Pharaoh made borders and ways of protection from invaders.

Banquets At the banquets there would be a long table and the men and women would sit on opposite sides of the table Important men and women would sit on fancy chairs with high backs while the rest of the guests would sit on stools or cushions. The woman servants of the men and woman who attended the banquets were usually put to work as the waiters to the guests.

5. Food and Drinks at Banquets The food at the banquets consisted of roasted ducks, geese, quail, pigeons, goats, wild sheep, and antelope. They also served items such as cakes, honey, bread, figs, grapes, coconuts, and also fish and veggies For the drink of the meal, they served plenty kinds of beer and wine.

6. Banquet Entertainment The banquets had entertainment provided while they ate. They provided musicians, dancers, and acrobats. There were also flute players, harp players, rattle players, and lute players. Guests enjoyed this entertainment and they clapped while they ate as the music went on.
