1 Parable of the Sower Our Journey

2 Luke 8:4-8 (NIV) 4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. 6 Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." When he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

3 Luke 8:9-10 (NIV) 9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant
Luke 8:9-10 (NIV) 9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, "'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'

4 Luke 8:11-15 (NIV) 11 "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

5 This is our journey: Jesus as Savior Jesus as Lord Embrace Ps 139
Lordship of Christ Holy Spirit as God Fatherhood of God Embrace Ps 139 Habits developed in line with God’s plan and purpose for you

6 Jesus as Savior Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

7 Jesus as Lord Matthew 7:21 (NIV) 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Luke 9:23-25 (NIV) 23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? 1 John 1:9 (NIV) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

8 Establishing Lordship
Confess Renounce Announce Fill

9 - Holy Spirit as Comforter / Counselor / Coach - God as Father
John 14:15-21 (NIV) 15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

10 Embrace Ps 139 Psalms 139:16 (NIV) 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

11 Habits developed in line with God’s plan and purpose for you
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
