M EN’S F RAGRANCE

Target Market: Males Young (20 to 30 years old), urban, fashion conscious Professionals Higher income

 The typical elements in a perfume or cologne commercial ad:  Dramatic  Eccentric  Magical  Mysterious  Bizarre  And these elements create an unnatural feel!

 Our commercial was used to bring in the younger market with humor to compete with the brands they have now.  The competitors that use the typical commercials:  Chanel  Calvin Klein  Ralph Lauren  Hugo Boss

 Front character is getting ready to ask a girl that he likes out, he puts on his nice suit, sprays him with a little cologne but forget his pants!  Confident in himself, he goes and asks the barista for a drink and a date.  The girl, seeing he doesn’t have pants, smells the cologne and gives him her number anyway.

THE SCRIPT The commercial starts out with a young man, probably in his 20’s and he is in his apartment, putting on a nice suit while "Oh Yeah”song plays. Next, the young man sprays on "BLACK" cologne by Kenneth Cole. The next scene, the young man walks into Smoothie King. He heads straight for the counter and asks for a smoothie and the woman‘s number. He walks with good posture, clearly looking very confident. YOUNG MAN "Hey what's up? Let me get a smoothie and... your number?" The young man winks at the barista behind the counter. BARISTA "Sure." She fills up the cup with a smoothie and quickly scribbles her number on the side. BARISTA "Here you are!" She has a flirtatious smile. YOUNG MAN "Sweet, later babe!" The young man walks out the door without pants, even taller and More confident. The next scene fades to picture of cologne and then commercial ends. THE STORYBOARD

 Shot scenes in apartment and Smoothie King  Owner’s permission to use location  To do a video  Missing article of clothing  Time to film  Wearing the shirt  After confirmation, it was time to film!

 Filmed with a digital camera  First: the young man (James Dunker) getting dressed in suit and spraying himself with the cologne.  Second: James walking into Smoothie King.  Third: James approaching the counter to interact with the barista (Alison).  After interaction, frame zooms out to reveal James walking out the door.

 After the production of the video, it was time for the post-production.  Using the software, Windows Movie Maker, Mike Sawicki did the final edits and voice- overs for the actors  The microphones were not advanced enough to pick up the volume of sound needed.

 Kenneth Cole’s Black purpose: To make people notice you!  This fragrance gives you such confidence and sex appeal.  Social and Physiological needs  You can look like a fool without pants but it doesn’t even matter because you have Kenneth Cole’s Black on.
