Cows make milk when they have a baby. This milk is needed to feed the calf.

The milk is kept at a chilly 38 degrees. It is stored in refrigerated storage tanks. A refrigerated truck comes to pick up the milk daily and take it to the processing plant. The truck driver does a test on the milk before pumping it into the truck to make sure it's safe to drink.

6 The milk is checked again and then pumped from the milk truck into a storage tank at the processing factory. Next, the milk is sent to the homogenizer and the pasteurizer. They heat the milk the kill any bacteria.
