2 Brochure Guidelines Read through the opening paragraph under the title “Volcano Brochure Guidelines”. Fill in the blank with January 31 (A Day) or February 3 (B Day). Before turning in your brochure, check off everything on that list.

3 Staying Organized Create headings in your notes labeled:  “Types of Volcanoes”  “How Volcanoes Work”  “Specifics of ______________”  “____________’s Impact on the Environment”  “____________’s Impact on Humans” As you find information researching, write it down under the appropriate heading---don’t forget it’s source!

4 MLA Citations A good reference to use for MLA is: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ When you find a good source, cite it right away and then the work is done!

5 MLA Citations Citing a Website using MLA: Editor, Author Name (If Available). Name of Site. Name of Institution/Organization affiliated with site, Date of Creation. Medium of Publication. 6 MLA Citations Citing a Book using MLA: Last name, First name. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication. Gleick, James. Chaos: Making a New Science. New York: Penguin, 1987. Print.

7 In-Text Citations When putting a quote directly from a source into your brochure, enclose it in quotation marks and include the author’s last name and the year in parenthesis after the quote, unless it’s not a print source, then put the webpage. Example: (Wordsworth, 263) Example: (Garcia, CNN.com)
