3  The nickname of Illinois is the Prairie State.  The Region is the Midwestern Region  The capital city is Springfield.  The three major cities are Rockford, Aurora, and Chicago.  The population is currently 12,875,255 people

6  The borders are:  Mississippi River, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, and Lake Michigan  The geography of Illinois: flat prairies and farmland lie between two large bodies of water, Lake Michigan and the Mississippi River.
