2 What is blood? It is a red colored liquid substance that carries nutrients to different parts of the body,it also carries oxygen to all cells of the body

3 INTRODUCTION TO BLOOD GROUPS
Wht do we mean by a blood group? The RBCs of the blood have certain type of antigens like antigen “A,B or O” If RBCs have antigen A its blood group will be A If RBCs have antigen B then the blood group will be B If RBCs have antigen O then blood group will be O (that means having no antigen)

4 Importance of Blood Groups
The RBCs also have anti bodies that destroy the RBCs of the donor blood if they do not have the same antigens Therefore it is necessary to receive or donate blood of the same group.

5 Important Points About Blood Transfusion
Make sure when you are are donating or receiving blood The blood has same group or related group that can be alternative The blood has been tested for any kind of viral infection or genetic disorder
