Equivalent Inequalities O Just as you used properties of equality, you can use properties of inequality. O Equivalent inequalities are inequalities that have the same solutions.

Examples O x – 15 > -12 O x – 15 + 15 > -12 + 15 O x > 3 O t + 6 > - 4

Writing and Solving O A school bus can carry as many as 76 students. If 19 are already on the bus, how many more can board? O Subtract 19 : s ≤ 57 O At most, 57 more students can board the bus.
