2 BRAIN WARM-UPS Get into groups of FOUR Find a partner Each card is a different colour: BLUE RED BLACK Each colour corresponds to a circle on the other side, with letters in it. 1.Stack the cards face down in the middle of the table. 2.Someone in your group needs to be the card flipper. 3.Your pair has to figure out the word before the other pair to win the card. 4.The first pair to win 10 cards wins!

11 Next Steps… Develop an awesome, specific, idea/argument. For example: In the coming-of-age novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee powerfully analyzes the theme of isolation and its causes through several of the characters in the novel. Find some contemporary examples of social isolation due to poverty, racism and mental illness / victim of abuse. SNEEZE OUT a first draft of your introduction for tomorrow’s class.
