5. 5CARGO Through Port Saint John Last year, 312,000 metric tonnes of container cargo went through the Port. That weighs the same as more than two million harbour seals. They weigh 136 kilograms each! Last year, 873,000 metric tonnes of dry bulk went through the Port. That’s the same as 873 million 1 kg bags of salt. Last year, 26.5 million metric tonnes of liquid bulk went through the Port. That’s enough to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool 10,794 times.
