1 Similes and Metaphors A simile is a figure of speech used to compare two thing with the words as and like. Her hair was as shiny as the sun. A metaphor is also a figure of speech that compares two different things by giving a name that belongs to something else. Her hair is pure sunshine

2 Which are similes? Johnny was as talkative as a chattering monkey. Jose is a great speller. Ayana is as quiet as a mouse. Mrs. Williams’ smile is brighter then the sun. I really like ice cream. Michael is as busy as a beaver. The water glittered like diamonds.
