1 PIONEER HIGH SCHOOL WEST STADIUM PHASE 1

2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Erickson Hall (EHCC) was the awarded the Pioneer High School Phase 1 Construction Contract with a GMP of $9,893,520 in early June 2013. In mid June a Preliminary Notice to Proceed was issued; followed by a process in which the GMP contract was subjected to a public comment period as part of a contract validation process that ended late July. A Final Notice to Proceed was then issued mid July, with Abatement, Demolition, Removal and Earthwork Operations commencing early August.

3 The Phase 1 project documents have been reviewed and approved by DSA and the Designer/Builder team is working together to create a final set for Construction that will include Constructability Review, Value Engineering, Scope Reductions, DSA Comments and the previously issued Addendum One.

4 The procurement process (Subcontracts – Submittals – Fabrication – Delivery) continues with a focus on the Visitor Bleacher Deferred Approval Submittals currently at DSA under review. Field operations include Demolition, Removals and Grading. Cost controls are in place to mitigate the use of Contingencies and avoid surprises as much as possible. Our Quality Control program is gradually being implemented as we transition from demolition to construction. Safety, Security, SWPPP, Dust Control, and Housekeeping continue to be of high priority.

5 CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS Start Date – July 22, 2013 Substantial Completion Date – June 3, 2014 Initial Survey and SWPPP measures are in place. Although some areas of demolition and removal were impacted by Value Engineering and Scope Reduction discussions, overall Abatement, Demolition, Removal and Earthwork Operations continue at this time. EHCC has been working to coordinate ongoing field operations with design changes in a fast track manner.

6 As of this report, Abatement of stucco at home bleachers is complete; Demolition of fence & fabric, North four (4) tennis courts, interior fencing, backstops, fence around tracks, bleachers, trees along Slauson Avenue, and light poles are complete. Removal of debris offsite around identified work areas is ongoing. Earthwork and grading in baseball and football fields are ongoing.

7 Installation of control point and benchmark elevations, staking of walls at Millergrove and contour ball fields are also complete. New 6” POC irrigation complete. Finish grading at ball fields & over-excavation of wall at Millergrove are ongoing. Overall site housekeeping and safety procedures are practiced on a daily basis.

8 Upcoming new activities for next month include:  Fine Grading  Bleacher/Building Pad Over & recompaction  Concrete Foundations  Masonry Retaining Walls & waterproofing  Fencing  Underground Utilities  Underground Electrical & Irrigation Sleeves

9 Efforts from the Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, the District, Inspectors and Erickson Hall have resulted in mitigation of the schedule impacts incurred to date. Challenges have included the Bid/Budget Approval Process, Document Revisions to accommodate VE and Scope Reduction changes, Clarifications (RFIs) and DSA review time and comments.
