2. The ‘rapper style’ is characterised with a lot of flashy and ostentatious apparel. This might be because all rappers are considered to be ‘new money’ and they want to show their wealth and success off as much as possible. For this reason rap videos are filled with the rappers dressed in expensive clothing, wearing gold jewellery whilst being surrounded by exotic cars. Some rappers even look for inspiration in jewellery when picking their rap name e.g: 2 Chainz who is known for always wearing 2 gold chains.

3. Another thing that rappers are associated with is big, over- sized sports clothing, this style has been adopted by many young men in parts of urban USA and has since become increasingly mainstream. This is an example of how the hip- hop affects things outside the genre.

4. Cars are things that often appear in music videos for rap songs. Some of the most popular models are the Cadillac Escalade, Rolls Royce Phantom and Bugatti Veyron, these are frequently mentioned in the lyrics of multiple songs and some songs are even dedicate to them such as Bugatti by Ace Hood.
