1 Introduction to Charlotte’s Web 3 rd Grade Language Arts Lesson

2 Which animals would fit best on a farm? Your task for this webquest is to answer this question. Pretend you are a farmer, and your job is to figure out which animals you want to have on your farm. Your task is to decide which animals you would put on your farm and give reasons why for each animal. Each person in your group will have an animal to research. As group, you need to divide the tasks evenly. Use the resources provided for each particular animal. At the end, when you have all gathered your information on your animal, you will come together as a group to answer this question.

3 Roles Cow Connoiseur The job of the cow connoiseur is to research information about cows: what they eat, where they live on a farm, and what people use them for. Chicken Consultant The job of the chicken consultant is to research information about chickens: what they eat, where they live on a farm, and what people use them for.

4 Roles Pig Professional The job of the pig professional is to research information about pigs: what they eat, where they live on a farm, and what people use them for. Horse Master The job of the horse master is to research information about horses: what they eat, where they live on a farm, and what people use them for.

5 Cow Connoiseur As the cow connoiseur, your task is to find information about cows. You need to figure out what food they eat. You need to know where they would live on a farm and what kind of living shelter they would need. You also need to find out how people can use them. 9 FINAL TASK Your final task for this webquest is to decide together as a group which animals you would put on your farm if you were a farmer. You need to base your decision on the information you gathered about each different farm animal. After completing this webquest, you should know more about different farm animals and which ones would be best suited to live on a farm. You should also know what the uses of these animals are.
