Gas routines and information Gas coordinators: K2 : Pei Na Kui, 410 06 639, pei.na.kui@ntnu.nopei.na.kui@ntnu.no AGv: Torild Krogstad, 918 97 623, torild.krogstad@ntnu.notorild.krogstad@ntnu.no

Gas routines and infomation Agv How to order a gas bottle: Send an order to Torild and specify which room gas bottle will be stored. AGA deliver gas in gas-shed between the E-block and F-block. To get the code to open the gas-shed, contact Torild Krogstad (918 97 623) or Jonas Einan Gjøvik (970 92 215).

Gas routines and infomation Agv All users of the gas in AGv must retrieve the ordered gas from gas-shed and set empty gas bottles back in gas-shed. All NTNU gas bottles must have a turquoise tag with information about the gas, location and responsible. Contact Torild to get this tag. (Sintef has yellow tag). When gas bottles are empty, flip tag over and write "Empty, Return".

Gas routines and infomation K2 Send an order to IMT.fagbestiller@material.ntnu.no.IMT.fagbestiller@material.ntnu.no with cc. to Pei Na Kui, pei.na.kui@ntnu.no.pei.na.kui@ntnu.no Users must specify which room gas bottle will be stored. All NTNU bottles must have a tag with information about the gas, location and responsible. When gas bottles are empty, flip tag over and write "Empty, Return".

5 K2 From gas central in K1 we get: Argon Nitrogen Synthetic air H2(in some labs)

6 Everyone who uses gas must be trained by either apperatur responsible or gas coodinator. Transport gas bottles only with suitable trolleys. Also 10L bottles. Safety rules:

7 Concerning gas bottles not in use, contact gas responsible. All bottles, full or empty, should be secured against falling at all time. Close the main shut-off valve on bottles when not in use. Before any disassembly of the regulator, make sure it is completely depressurized. Safety rules:

8 Always take off the regulator before moving gas bottles. Also check that the valve is firmly closed to prevent leakage. Do not take the elevator with gas bottles, especially when you know it is not empty. Oxidizers and flammable gases should be stored in areas, separated by at least 5m. Safety rules:

9 Regulary check for faults and leaks: – Tubes and hoses with leaks, cuts, burns or local surface damage should be replaced – Use leak detection spray to check for leaks Safety rules:

10 Oil and oxygen under pressure is dangerous combination Oil and grease are particularly hazardous in the presence of oxygen as they can ignite spontaneously and burn with explosive violence.
