3 For many centuries Cracow was the royal capital of Poland

4 Jagiellonian University established in Cracow in 1364 is one of the oldest universities in the world.

5 The heart of the Old Town and whole city is the The Main Market Square (Rynek Główny) - the biggest medieval market square in Europe.

6 St. Mary's Church (Kościół Mariacki) is a large 14th-century church especially famous for its magnificent 15th-century wooden altarpiece by the master carver Wit Stwosz (Veit Stoss).

7 The Wawel Hill – the complex consisting of many buildings and fortifications.

8 The largest and best known of these are the castle – the residence of Polish Kings (from 10 th to 17 th centuries)

9 The Wieliczka Salt Mine located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. The mine built in the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines still in operation.

10 The mine's attractions include dozens of statues and four chapels that have been carved out of the rock salt by the miners. Chapel of St. Kinga
