1 ITX 4-Gas Detector Quick Reference Guide

2 Case:Type 304 Stainless Steel,.024" (.61mm) thick Dimensions:4.75" X 3.2" X 1.68" (121mm X 81mm X 43mm) Weight:18.5 oz (524.5 g) Sensors: Combustible Gases/Methane - Catalytic Diffusion Oxygen and Toxic Gases Electrochemical Measuring Ranges: Methane - 0 to 5% of volume in 0.1% increments Oxygen - 0 to 30% of volume in 0.1% increments Carbon Monoxide - 0 to 999 PPM in 1 PPM increments Power Source (Run time): Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Pack (24 hours typical) Replaceable "AA" Alkaline Battery Pack (12 hours typical) Datalogging Capacity: 300 hours log time at 1 minute intervals User configurable datalogging intervals and data overwrite capability Data Input Capability: Keypad entry of up to 16 characters (each) of User and Site data Optional iButton automatic data entry Temperature Range:-4 to 122°F (-20 to 50°C) Humidity Range:15 to 95% RH (non-condensing) Approvals: UL and CSA - Class I, Groups A, B, C, D hazardous locations MSHA - Intrinsically safe for Methane/Air mixtures only ATEX and Australia – Ex ia s I/IIC T4: IP65 Spec Summary: Diffusion Mode The ITX 4-Gas does NOT have a constant pump. This requires longer readings for the environment in question. O2 > 10 sec. 3-Gas > 2 min.

7 ITX 4 GAS CALIBRATION POINTS Short Term Exposure Limit : Concentration to which workers can be exposed continuously for a short period of time (~15-30 min.) without suffering from: 1. irritation 2. chronic or irreversible tissue damage 3. narcosis of sufficient degree to increase the likelihood of accidental injury, impair self-rescue or materially reduce work efficiency. Time Weighted Average : The average exposure over a specified period of time, usually a nominal eight hours. Workers can be exposed to a maximum of four STEL periods per 8 hour shift, with at least 60 minutes between exposure periods.

8 Summary Always start-up/calibrate the ITX 4 Gas outside in a clean environment For accurate readings the ITX 4 Gas must be in the sample atmosphere for: O2 > 10 sec. 3-Gas > 2 min. Zero the sensors prior to use for accurate data-logging intervals.
