Chuan xiong (Ligusticum root) Taste and Property: warm, acrid Meridian Tropism: Liver, gallbladder and pericardium Actions: invigorates the blood, promoters the movement of qi, expels wind, stops pain Application: –For any blood stasis pattern: dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, difficult labor, or retained lochia. For patterns of qi stagnation and blood stasis: pain and soreness in the chest, flanks and hypochondria.
