1 Career Clusters November 6th & 13th

2 Career Clusters The U. S. Department of Education has established 16 broad Career Clusters. A Career Cluster is a grouping of occupations and broad industries based on commonalities. Clusters consist of occupations with similar skills and educational pathways. An additional Career Cluster titled Energy was added due to a growing demand for skilled workers in these fields. As you are exploring careers, it’s always best to look at career clusters or fields and then examine several of the careers that interest you within that cluster.

3 Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
Processing, production, distribution, financing, and development of agricultural commodities and natural resources. Examples of jobs: Farm and Ranch Managers Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers Aquacultural Managers Environmental Science and Protection Technicians, Including Health Biochemists and Biophysicists Foresters Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers Soil and Water Conservationists

4 Architecture & Construction
Designing, managing, building, and maintaining the built environment. Examples of jobs: Brickmasons and Blockmasons Construction Laborers Cost Estimators Electricians Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanics and Installers Pipe Fitters and Steamfitters Plumbers Reinforcing Iron and Rebar Workers Civil Engineers Architectural Drafters

5 Arts, Audio Visual Technology & Communications
Creating, exhibiting, performing, and publishing multimedia content. Examples of jobs: Graphic Designers Broadcast Technicians Sound Engineering Technicians Court Reporters Technical Writers Choreographers Makeup Artists, Theatrical and Performance Radio Mechanics Commercial and Industrial Designers

6 Business, Management & Administration
Organizing, directing, and evaluating functions essential to productive business operations. Examples of jobs: Customer Service Representatives Executive Secretaries and Executive Administrative Assistants Legal Secretaries Public Relations Specialists Shipping, Receiving, and Traffic Clerks Database Administrators Accountants Financial Managers Compliance Managers Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists

7 Education & Training Providing education, training and related learning support services. Executing governmental functions at the local, state and federal levels. 10 Health Science Providing diagnostic and therapeutic services, health information, support services, and biotechnology research and development. 18 Transportation, Distribution & Logistics
Managing movement of people, materials, and goods by road, pipeline, air, rail, and water.
