6 To be promoted to 12 th grade, you must have 18 credits! You must pass English III in order to be promoted to 12 th grade!

9 College Planning In the 11 th Grade! IT’S VERY IMPORTANT TO START PLANNING IN 11 TH GRADE IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY!!! College admissions offices pay careful attention to the following: Grade Point Average (GPA)-Minimum GPA for the UNC System is 2.5 (weighted) Difficulty of course load SAT/ACT scores (UNC system—minimum requirements) Class rank High school and community activities/leadership Personal statement/essay Recommendations (teacher and counselor, if required)

24 Attendance Consistent attendance is extremely important. You are responsible for making up any missed assignments, tests, or quizzes. 2 absences in a block scheduled class is like missing 4 days of learning.

25 Athletic Eligibility o Students are eligible for high school athletics if they pass three of their four classes during the semester previous to the sport they wish to play, have at least a 1.5 GPA (or 2.0 in previous semester), and attended school at least 85% of the days in the past semester.
