4 Week beginning 11 th May: Reading, EGSP and Maths levels 3-5 (External marker) Writing-Teacher Assessment. (Finalised end June.) Level 6 papers in SATs week - Reading, EGSP and Maths (External marker) TEST TIMETABLE

5 Morning- 3-5 testsAfternoon- Level 6 Monday English – Reading Test (60 mins) English – Reading Test (10 + 50 mins) Tuesday English – Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling Test (45 mins + 15/20 mins) English – Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling Tests (3 tests) Wednesday Maths – Mental Mathematics Test (20 mins) Maths – Mathematics Paper 1 (45 mins NO calculator) No Tests Thursday Maths – Mathematics Paper 2 (45 mins NO calculator) Maths – Paper 1 (30 mins: NO calculator allowed)Maths – Paper 2 (30 mins: Calculator allowed) FridayNo Tests

6 Mental Mathematics Test. 20 questions on a CD. Time Limits for each question. 2 papers. No calculators allowed. Level 6 papers. (2x 30 mins) MATHEMATICS

7 Reading test 60 minutes. See Sample reading materials. (50 Marks) Changes in format from 2014. Level 6 paper. (60 mins) Based on peformance on the day ENGLISH- READING

8 Test 50 marks grammar (45 mins), 20 marks spelling (15/20 mins) Level 6 papers. (3 papers- 1 spelling (10/15 mins), 1 grammar (20 mins) and 1 composition task (30 mins) Based on test on the day. ENGLISH- SPAG (SPELLING, PUNCTUATION AND GRAMMAR)

9 Teacher assessment over the whole year across a range of genres and subjects. (Assessment levels 2-6) No test but writing tests were externally moderated in 2013 & 2014 to ensure accuracy of data. ENGLISH- WRITING

10 Independent work. Neither Ts or pupils see tests until arrive minutes before test period. Change every year. Teachers may read parts of questions and SPAG in Maths unless pupil receives 1-1 help and fit SEND criteria, where a greater level of reading assistance can be given in Maths only. Working to rigid test times. TEST ADMINISTRATION

11 This is very different to Ks1 Suggestions from QCA are that pupils do test in small groups and within a certain time period. Same assessments for last 5 years TA is main focus of KS1 but can use test as part of the evidence. Internally marked but must be moderation of samples. Predictions for KS2 are made from results at KS1.

12 English, Maths and lessons for the last 3 ½ years. Booster programme in school time. Homework activities. (Increased quantities) Test practice questions in lessons. Mock SATs week. Easter School PREPARATION

14 Level 3 and below represents achievement below the nationally expected standard for most 11-year-olds. Level 4b represents achievement at the nationally expected standard for most 11-year- olds. (Soon to be called ‘Secondary Ready’) Levels 5 and 6 represent achievement above the nationally expected standard for most 11-year- olds.

15 How results are used: Progress measured from KS1 Preparation for key stage 3. Sets/groupings in Y7 Predictions for GCSE. AFTER THE TESTS
