7 What will we see and do? In addition to the Great Wall of China, while in Beijing, we will visit the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, as well as the site of the 2008 summer Olympic Games. We will arrive in Beijing on Monday, April 11 After an 18 hour flight from Boston. We will spend the next four days in this vibrant and exciting city. Other highlights of our time in Beijing includes a visit to a kung-fu show, a rickshaw tour of the Houtong area of Beijing, and a visit to a Beijing High School #55 to meet with Chinese students.

10 Beijing to Xi’an We bid farewell to Beijing and board our overnight train to the ancient capital city of Xi’an. Our time in Xi’an includes a visit to the world famous Terra Cotta Warriors. 12 Xi’an to Chengdu After a morning bike ride on the ancient city walls of Xi’an, we’ll fly on to Chengdu, the home of the panda breeding reserve. 14 Chengdu to Emeishan After our visit to the National Panda Reserve in Chengdu, it’s off to Mt. Emei, on of the four sacred mountains in China according to the Buddhist tradition. Below is our 4-star hotel. www.emshotel.com.cn

15 EMEISHAN - SHANGHAI Our two days in Shanghai just doesn’t seem long enough. Rivaling Hong Kong as the most modern city in China, Shanghai also holds on to the glory that was its’ past. Saturday morning will come soon enough, and we will, sadly, depart for home. www.hs-peninsulahotel.com

17 Shanghai to Boston This afternoon, Saturday, April 23rd, we’ll bid a sad farewell, and depart from Shanghai’s international airport for the 18 hour flight home. Because we are flying west to east across the International Date Line, we arrive in Boston, 18 hours after leaving Shanghai, but it is only 9:00 PM on Saturday!
