Tracking Student Progress and Adult Action The file contains three sheets  Interim student outcomes (Periodic student assessments that the district believes are predictive of CMT/CAPT achievement or other long-term outcomes for students)  Long-term student outcomes (CMT/CAPT or other annual data on student performance or behavior)  Adult outcomes to track fidelity of adult action and change in adult behavior Select the proper sheet at the bottom left of the window.

Interim Student Outcomes

Enter your Interim Student Outcomes First, enter the names of the interim student outcomes

Information about the Outcome Is this Interim Student Outcome predictive of one, two, or more of the long-term student outcomes? Enter the number of the targeted outcome(s) or “all”.

Information about the Outcome *Metric = the threshold level of desired performance, i.e. “proficient”, “goal”, “on grade level”, etc. In the next columns you will report the percent of students at or above this threshold. *Metric = the threshold level of desired performance, i.e. “proficient”, “goal”, “on grade level”, etc. In the next columns you will report the percent of students at or above this threshold. Enter descriptive info about the Outcome Enter descriptive info about the Outcome

Disaggregate data as pertinent to the district and the DIP. Enter percent of students in each category who have met or exceeded the threshold listed in the “metric” column. Disaggregate data as pertinent to the district and the DIP.

New rows for new administrations of the same interim outcome

Frequently track and enter data on fidelity of Adult Outcomes 1243 1Enter the Adult Outcome to be tracked 2Sponsor has executive authority to provide resources and remove obstacles 3Manager has day-to-day responsibility for oversight of project. Reports to sponsor. 4In what marking period of what year will this project begin? 5In what marking period of what year will this project be complete? 6Of the overall project, what percent complete is it? Do not enter predictions for the future, only what has actually been accomplished. * Adult Outcome data tracks from left to right over time. 56

* Optional: Color code the data columns in Gantt chart format Cluster outcomes by project and use color coding to show the planned start date, duration, and due date.

Enter Adult Outcome data at regular intervals over time As projects start, begin entering data on fidelity of adult action and change in adult behavior. DO NOT write in predictive values about where the project will be in the future. Only enter actual data on observed progress.

Example: Three years of data on adult outcomes

Background This accountability tool is based on a long-standing tool used in business and industry called a “Balanced Scorecard”. You can find more information at the following resources.  Wikipedia article Wikipedia article  The partnership between the Center for Educational Leadership & Technology (CELT) and the Darden-Curry School of Business at the University of Virginia.
