Costumes are often colorful to enhance the character's visual appeal and frequently incorporate the superhero's name and theme. I don’t mean a tendency to wear their underwear on the outside; I’m referring to something much more important than that. Superheroes all have their own way of invoking their powers, turning them from mere mortals into champions of justice out to save the world from evil. I’m thinking here of the Incredible Hulk bursting from his clothes, Batman’s dramatic pole slide, and my favorite Wonder Woman’s twirl. And while superheroes may be fictional, the process of invoking their powers draws on some very real life research into the factors which boost your personal confidence, performance and success.
