2 Reporting Financial Management Reporting
Reports: Allows User to pull pre-defined report information, filter reports, etc. Report Wizard: Allows User to create custom reports (this topic is covered in another NG session). Report Packages: Allows User to produce a report package consisting of a previously determined group of reports. Dataviews and Dataview Wizard: Allow Users to create spreadsheet style reports exportable to Excel (this topic is covered in another NG session).

3 Running Standard Reports

4 Reports Financial Management Reporting Reports > Click Find

5 Reports Double-click desired report to select time period and account range. NOTE: Even though there is no red shield beside the Filter Template field, you must select a template or complete the information on the Advanced Tab.

6 Reports Make the desired selections for Fiscal Year, From and Thru Periods and GL account or Account Controls.

7 Reports NOTE: If you did not select a Filter Template on the General tab, you would have to make the appropriate selections on the Advanced tab in order to produce a report.

8 Click Next > to run the report as selected.
Reports Click Next > to run the report as selected.

9 Reports Select Print from the ribbon bar to print the report.
Or, Select Create PDF to save the report.

10 Customized Reports and Filter Templates

11 Customized Reports The Account Segments tab allows you to narrow your report criteria by the various account segments by clicking on that segment. You can narrow your search range using the From and Thru boxes. Select the code(s) that you want for this report by checking the box next to the code.

12 Customized Reports After making your selections, Click the Next > button to view your customized report.

13 Customized Reports Now, you have a four page report with specific departments rather than a twenty-eight page full report.

14 Filter Templates Allow you to save customized report criteria to prevent you from having to select the criteria each time you run a report. LGC’s goal is to set up Standard Templates for county audit approved reports. Users may set up their own templates for special reports.

15 Filter Templates Once you have created a report that meets your needs, you can create a Filter Template simply by clicking on the < Back button.

16 Filter Templates Click on the Save Filter or Save Filter As on the ribbon bar.

17 Filter Templates Fill in the Name and Description
Select Save And Close from the ribbon bar

18 Filter Templates Your newly created filter will now appear as a Filter Template for this report.

19 Filter Templates Filter Templates that were created by the lgadmin user cannot be changed by any other user. In order to save certain Account Controls (funds) on a filter you will have to also save the fiscal year on the template. Filter templates must be set up in order to use Report Packages

20 Selection Criteria for County Audit Approved Reports
Refer to the document entitled Selection Criteria for Standard Reports. The General Tab settings will vary depending on the time periods and accounts you are running. The Account Segments Tab will vary depending on the account segments you are selecting. The Advanced Tab must be selected correctly for an accurate report to be produced.

22 Creating Report Packages
System Administration Report Packages Select NEW from the ribbon bar.

23 Creating A Report Package
Description: User defined Owner: Defaults Edit Access: Public (anyone can Edit) or Private (only Owner can Edit) Product: Report Package is tied to NG core product (new this year)

Output Format: Export Printer: (None) Subject: Blank Export Type: PDF

25 Creating A Report Package
Add the reports in the order you wish them to print, the number of copies and the report filters. Choose Save and Close from ribbon bar.

26 Running A Report Package
Click Find to display report packages. Double Click the package you wish to run. Financial Management Reporting Report Packages

27 Running A Report Package
You will have to choose the General tab and enter the Periods and Account Controls you wish to report. You do not have to select anything on the other tabs. It will pull from the filter template you have on the report. Click Next > to see the reports

Your report package is ready to Print or save as a PDF.

30 Using the Find Feature Use Find on the ribbon bar to search for information within the report.

31 Using the Find Feature Our example returned results on page 36 of a 42 page report.

32 Exporting Reports You can easily export reports by clicking on Excel in the ribbon bar.

33 Exporting Reports Choose where you want to save your file,
assign the File name and click Save.

34 Exporting Reports Navigate to where you saved your file and open with Excel.

35 How to Inactivate a Report
In this example, there are 117 Active reports, ten of which are Account Analysis reports.

36 How to Inactivate a Report
For this example, we will inactivate the Account Analysis Summarized by Transaction Number report.

37 How to Inactivate a Report
Go to System Administration, Report Definitions, Click Find, and search for the report you wish to inactivate.

38 How to Inactivate a Report
Double-click to open the Report Definition.

39 How to Inactivate a Report
Uncheck the Active box on the General Tab. Then click Save And Close on the ribbon bar.

40 How to Inactivate a Report
There are now only 116 Active reports and the Account Analysis Summarized by Transaction report is not listed.
