Forced Air Heating System Sarah Catherine Nick Henry
Steps to A Heating System 3 steps Burn a Fuel Heat a fluid Circulate a heated fluid The second law of thermodynamics states the energy flows from hot to cold. In a forced air heating system this happens through convection.
Role of energy flow After the first 3 steps of a heating system air is pushed through supply ducts. It goes through a heat registered and warm air rises. The air circulates the room and the cold air falls through a return grill. Air is pulled through the return ducts and the process starts again.
Insulation Definition: a material that is a poor conductor of heat and that delays the transfer of heat Good insulators are: Air Styrofoam Wall Insulation
