2 The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health MIRAGE presentation The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health was established by the University of Sydney in 2008 following a generous donation from philanthropist and Indigenous health advocate, Mr Greg Poche. Mr Poche has a commitment to improving Aboriginal health, and the Poche Centre is an expression of that commitment. Our strategic objectives are to: Deliver and expand evidence-informed services that meet a proven need and have a positive impact; Expand our research effort and draw on this to support and inform the purpose of the Centre; Provide professional development opportunities and scholarships for Aboriginal people; Stimulate, inform and contribute to debate about strategies for improving Indigenous health so as to influence public opinion and public policy; Establish sustainable funding from a variety of sources – philanthropic donors, governments, medical and health professionals; Achieve maximum impact within the available resources. 2 Background

With this said I feel very few opportunities have been so informative and so beneficial in such a short space of time.” Neill Kiely, 3 rd year Med student 6 Student stories and photos
