12 Persistence at NMUSD Adult School Managed-Enrollment Sessions at BESST 4 nine-week sessions Session 1: Sep 8, 2009 – Nov 12, 2009 Session 2: Nov 16, 2009 - Feb 4, 2010 Session 3: Feb 8, 2010 - Apr 22, 2010 Session 4: Apr 26, 2010 – June 24, 2010 Open Enrollment at Whittier You may enter and exit the program as needed.

13 Managed Enrollment at NMUSD Adult School Managed-Enrollment Objectives Provide sustained, high quality instruction Reduce attendance turbulence (interruptions in instruction as students constantly enter and exit)attendance turbulence Increase our paired test scores and learner gains

14 Managed Enrollment at NMUSD Adult School Registration & Testing Students enroll and pre-test BEFORE the each session begins. Students take the post-test before the each session ends. Students must have a pre-test and a post test score in order to continue to the next session.

15 Managed Enrollment at NMUSD Adult School Attendance Policy – IMPORTANT!!! If a student misses 4 consecutive days without informing the teacher of the reason for absence, the student will be DROPPED from class. Dropped students must wait until the next session to re-enroll.

21 Our Enrollment Expectations COME consistently!!! CALL or email your teacher when you are absent. If you MUST drop a class, communicate the reason for your exit. REGISTER for an ESL class at Whittier from 8-11 am if you cannot come to a managed enrollment class at the BESST site. COME BACK at the next available session.
