THE NEW COVENANT IN CHRIST JESUS MY HIGH PRIEST NOT ONLY OFFERS ME FORGIVENESS BUT ALSO HOLINESS

A FATHERS FAITH HEB 11:8-19

MLB ALL TIME HOMERUN LEADER BARRY BONDS

- OSLWALD J. SMITH “THE LIGHT THAT SHINES THE FARTHEST WILL SHINE THE BRIGHTEST AT HOME”

HEB 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM HEB 11:8-12

HEB 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

ROM 4:3 “What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

JAS 2:23 “And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”

HEB 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

GEN 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you

GEN 12:2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

HEB 11:9 By faith he made his home in the promised and like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

HEB 11:10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

REV. 21:2 “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

2 COR. 4:18 “ So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

HEB 11:11 And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.

HEB 11:12 And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

THE FAITH OF THE PATRIARCHS HEB 11:13-16

HEB 11:13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.

HEB 11:14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.

HEB 11:15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.

HEB 11:16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

PS.84:1 “How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty!”

THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD HEB 11:17-19

HEB 11:17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,

HEB 11:18 even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

HEB 11:19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.

HEAVENLY FATHER, I AM JUST ONE MAN AMONG MILLIONS WHOM YOU HAVE ENTRUSTED A GREAT RESPONSIBILITY. FOR MY PART, I WANT TO BE FAITHFUL TO THE CALL. I WANT TO BE THE KIND OF DAD YOU INTENDED FOR MY CHILDREN, OR THE KIND OF GRANDFATHER FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN, WHO SHOWS THEM YOUR LOVE AND FOLLOWS YOUR EXAMPLE. LORD HELP ME TO BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THAT IT BEGINS WITH YOU, THAT I CAN DEMONSTRATE A FATHERS FAITH, WHICH YOU HAVE CALLED US TO LIVE OUT, ONLY BECAUSE WE HAVE A FAITHFUL GOD. THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR LOVE AND GRACE AND PLEASE CONTINUE TO HELP SHOW ME THE WAY. YOU HAVE MADE IT CLEAR THAT IT BEGINS AND STARTS WITH A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
