What a hassle Everyone can agree one of the worst things about talegating is carrying the cooler So what if you didn’t have to

Presenting the TaleGator

IDEA When this project is done nobody should ever have to carry a cooler again. The gator follows a specified colored shirt (orange or blue) colortracking program Incase of pedestrians getting in its way it avoids obstacles using ultrasonic sensors.

Sensors Ultrasonic sensor: – 1:mounted to the front left – 2:mounted to the front right – 3:mounted to the back center Camera – CmuCam mounted at an angle to the center front

Example of color tracking https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla yer_embedded&v=kDf4DxNGad0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla yer_embedded&v=kDf4DxNGad0

Changes The original design called for four small motors each with a large wheel. This design couldn’t hold weight so it was replaced with a two drive wheel system and a caster in the back.

Current progress Body is fully put together with sensors mounted The programs to track colors and to avoid obstacles have been written Feedback is given in the form of two led lights mounted on the front of the body

Full Demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla yer_embedded&v=1aOUHvBz8U4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla yer_embedded&v=1aOUHvBz8U4

Limits The robot seems to pick up things such as leaves as obstacles Seems to have difficulties with some colors depending on the light Has a weight limit for the cooler it can carry so cooler cannot be fully loaded.
